Wednesday-Aran Islands

So we were very disappointed by the Aran islands that we visited.  We were told it was like stepping back in time and that most of the island was without power.  We were under the impression it would be very traditional.  Not so much.  Everything typically had power.  Actually they shut the islands power off from 11-5 for maintenance and everything shutdown because they didnt know how to operate.  They had a grocery store.  Everyone had cell phones and even the world famous hand made Aran sweaters are now made by machine in Japan, go figure.  Not to mention we planned on riding bikes around the island.  The chain on my bike broke and we returned it.  Then due to time restraints had to take a tour bus around the island.  May have been a good thing due to the spitting weather.  Laurie made a local movie star friend at the bar. It was Savage.
