Sunday--Travel to Dolemites

We took the hotel shuttle to the airport where we were picked up by our chalet's shuttle.  We had a three hour drive north into the Italian Alps.  It was a beautiful drive. Very crazy curvy roads.

Saturday---Gondola's and good food

We slept in and then made it to Venice via a 20 minute train ride around 11.  We spent the day wandering the never ending maze of building and small streets they call Venice.  It was very pretty.  The food was really good.  Laurie really enjoyed it and I am pretty sure she wants to go back.  We walked a big loop around the island and managed to take a     Gondola rude through the canals. We magically managed to find our way back to the train station without getting lost and headed back to the hotel before dark after a nice dinner on the water.  Laurie is now sick and had been a trooper all day so we opted for an early night so she could get lost of rest.  Pictures to be posted when we get to our next chalet in the Dolomites that should have wifi.  We are currently in the Marco Polo airport near Venice waiting for our transport to the Dolimites for two night.  We are looking forward to a peaceful hike in the Italian Alps.

Friday---travel day

So Friday was spent mostly on trains.  We woke up checked out of our hotel and walked downtown Interlaken with the intention of skydiving and paragliding before catching our train.  We intended to do the paragliding and skydiving on Wednesday but it was raining all day and I was sick with a cold/fever and spent the day in bed.  Due to it being last minute the plane for skydiving was full and the helicopter for skydiving could not find another person to go, so I was pretty bummed about that.  Laurie however did get to go paragliding and she had a blast.  We purchased the photos and video but will need a USB  to transfer them.  To be posted at a later date.  Below are the few I took from the ground.

After Laurie's paragliding we caught a train down to Mestre and taxi to Dolo where we had a hotel for two nights.  Mestre at midnight was an adventure in itself.  Laurie was starting to get sick at that point as well.
